River Street is the place to be any time of the year but most especially during Savannah's legendary  St. Patrick's Day celebration every March 17th.

Speaking of River Street, the street performers and buskers that are attracted to the historic district are a unique group of talented entertainers in their own right if you stop long enough to hear their chops.

But River Street isn't all that the historic district has to offer! How about 30 acre Forsyth Park where you just might find a local that can give you the inside scoop on our Fragrant Gardens to be found there?

The fact of the matter is downtown Savannah has more historic attractions to offer in 2.5 square miles than most other comparable destinations have in their entire city limits!

The most dominating landmark in Savannah's Forsyth Park is the Forsyth Park Fountain, a bubbling witness to morning joggers, leashed pets, free concerts, and the weekly destination weddings that take place here.

The opportunities to visit renowned landmarks that put Historic Savannah on the map to the discerning traveler 50 years ago is without parallel to other historic destinations.

Speaking of Destinations, Savannah is one of the premier locations for styish Destination Weddings with her many City Squares and Intimate private Courtyards.

There are more opportunities in the Hostess City to catch a glimpse of one of a variety of other worldly year round ghostly residents.

Museums, Art Galleries and every kind of Performing Arts genre, Savannah has the talent and the location if you take the time.

Meanwhile out on Tybee Island, the local resident pirates stage a "Beach Bum Parade" which is nothing more than an excuse to ambush all the parade goers with water guns and garden hoses that show up for this annual drenching event.

Surf, Wind, and Sea Gulls, an artistic rendering on YouTube of the traditional allure for beach lovers in general and the shore line of "Salt Island", "Sassafras Island" or "Savannah Beach" as we locals call it in particular.

OUR CUSTOMERS SAY IT BEST
…We are on our way home after three very pleasant nights at 208 E. Jones St. in Savannah. Consider us satisfied customers who will definitely contact you again for lodging next time we plan a trip to Savannah…We enjoyed watching "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" on the DVD player. I have a copy at home and had seen it prior to our trip to Savannah last April, but my sister and her husband had not seen it, so we viewed the copy provided. It was definitely more meaningful and interesting to see after spending a day on a tour bus and walking all over Savannah…Some of the things we enjoyed in Savannah were the narrated trolley tour which started at the visitor center, the museum at the visitor center, the wonderful food (We ate at Lady and Sons, Mellow Mushroom, the Pirates' House, and the Crab Shack on Tybee, among others), the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge (We got very good views and photos of alligators!), Tybee Island, the riverfront, the squares, and Wormsloe. There was much more I wanted to see and do and share with my sister and brother-in-law, but we ran out of time. All the more reason to make another trip sometime, of course…Thank you for your part in making our vacation enjoyable; we especially appreciated that you must have special-ordered for us the sunny days and warm weather which, we were told, was a little unusual for this time of year. I just checked and it's 33 degrees back home; that's what we're going back to after getting sun-baked on the beach at Tybee earlier today! Not looking forward to it!...Thanks, and best wishes…
